Why family portraits matter

Think about the last time your whole family was together in one photograph. Not a phone snapshot with someone missing, not a picture where Mom is the one holding the camera. A real portrait, with every single person you love in the frame.

For most families, that moment almost never happens on its own. Everyone is busy, the kids are growing, and the years pass faster than anyone expects. A family session is the one time you set everything else aside and get together, on purpose, to be in a portrait together.

And for Mom, it means something more. She is usually the one taking the photos, which means she is missing from most of them. A family portrait gives her that special memory with her children in her arms and her family around her, a memory she gets to keep, hang on her wall, and one day hand down.

A studio experience, start to finish

Your session is relaxed, guided, and unhurried. Before your session, we plan wardrobe together so everyone looks coordinated without looking matched. During the session, I guide every pose and keep things light and easy, especially for little ones. Afterward, I help you choose your favorite portraits and turn them into heirloom artwork for your home, printed pieces your children will one day show their own children.

What is included

Family sessions range from $350 to $500. Your exact price depends on where we photograph, how many people are in the portrait, and how many looks we create during your session.

Limited edition Mother’s Day and Father’s Day photoshoots

Twice a year, I open a small number of limited edition sessions celebrating the two people who hold a family together.

For Mother’s Day, a portrait session for Mom with her children, the picture she has always deserved to be in. For Father’s Day, a session for Dad with his kids, strong, tender, and full of the love only a father knows.

Family reunion photoshoots

When was the last time the whole family was in one place? Grandparents, siblings, cousins, grandbabies, everyone home at the same time. It happens so rarely, and it never stays that way for long.

A family reunion photoshoot turns that gathering into something permanent. We start with one beautiful portrait of the entire family, then move into smaller groupings: grandparents with the grandchildren, siblings together, each family on its own. Everyone leaves with portraits they will treasure, and the grandparents leave with the one picture they have wanted for years.

If your family is coming together for a holiday, an anniversary, or just because it has been too long, plan the photoshoot while you plan the gathering. These are the portraits a family passes down.

Holiday mini sessions, pets and grandparents welcome

Every holiday season, my Christmas mini sessions open for a limited number of dates. Thirty minutes, eight beautiful digital images, and a styled holiday set at the studio.

And yes, bring the whole family. Grandparents are welcome, and so are your family pets. The more generations in the portrait, the more it will mean later.

Christmas mini sessions are $250, with a $50 reservation to hold your spot. Dates are limited and they go fast.
