What to Expect at Your In-Home Newborn Session in Tampa Bay

The newborn days pass in a blur. Ask any mother and she will tell you: one moment you are counting tiny fingers in the hospital, and the next you are buckling that same baby into a kindergarten car seat, wondering where the time went.

That is why I come to you.

An in-home newborn session means your baby's very first portraits are made in the place where they are most loved — your home. No packing up the diaper bag, no waking a sleeping baby for the car ride, no studio you have never been to. Just your family, your light, your story.

Why at home

Some of my most tender images have been made in ordinary rooms: a mama nursing in her favorite chair, a daddy's hand cradling a head that barely fills his palm, soft window light falling across a nursery that took nine months to dream

up. I use your nursery and your home itself as the backdrop — the crib you spent months choosing, the chair you will rock in at 3am, the light in your own windows.

These are the details you will want to remember — not just what your baby looked like, but what your life felt like.

When to book

Newborn sessions are best when your baby is 5 to 14 days old. In those first two weeks, babies sleep deeply and curl naturally into those wobbly, perfect newborn poses. Because of this small window, I recommend reserving your due date while you are still expecting — I hold a limited number of newborn sessions each month, and once I am booked, I am booked.

How the session flows

There is no rush. That is the whole point.

I arrive with everything we need — wraps, backdrops, and styling pieces in soft, neutral tones that keep the focus where it belongs: on your baby. Before your session, we plan the styling together — your color preferences, treasured props, and any family heirlooms you want included. I bring it all with me, so your home becomes a fully styled studio for the day. We follow your little one’s lead entirely. If baby needs to eat, we pause. If baby needs to be held, we hold. Most in-home sessions last up to 3 hours, and every bit of that time is unhurried.

We will photograph your baby alone, with mama, with daddy, and all together. Siblings are absolutely welcome — some of my favorite images are a proud big brother or sister meeting the baby for the "first" time, all over again. Even your dog can make an appearance.

What you need to prepare

Almost nothing. Keep the house comfortably warm, have a few diapers and an extra outfit nearby, and do not worry about the mess — I have seen it all, and I promise I do not notice. If there is a room with beautiful window light, we will find it together.

After the session

You will receive an online gallery of session highlights one week after your photoshoot. After you select your favorites, I finalize them and send your downloadable gallery — full turnaround is typically 2 to 3 weeks. Heirloom prints and albums are available for the images you will want to hold in your hands.

Reserve your due date

She will never get these first days back — but she will always have these.

I am now booking in-home newborn sessions across Tampa Bay. In-home sessions begin at $800, which includes a $50 travel fee, with a $150 non-refundable retainer to reserve your date. Message me through my contact page or call (920) 474-6867 to reserve your due date.
